The richly decorated porcelain bodies combine cream-and-black leopard patterning with stylized tropical foliage in olive green, ochre, burgundy and muted blue-gray. Bold dark-glazed handles terminate in decorative rosettes, while graphic botanical motifs encircle the shoulders and bases. The unusual combination of classical urn forms, animal print and tropical decoration gives the pair a distinctive maximalist quality equally at home in Hollywood Regency, Palm Beach, eclectic, or postmodern-inspired interiors.

Each lamp is raised on an ebonized square plinth and retains its harp and decorative finial. Particularly striking as a pair flanking a sofa, console, bed or large mirror.

Acquired from a prominent Hollywood props house, where the pair formed part of a professional inventory used for film and television productions.

Condition: Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and professional studio use. Scattered small areas of paint and finish loss are present to the polychrome decoration. Areas of black paint loss near the upper portions have been carefully touched up to improve presentation; some minor losses remain elsewhere and are visible upon close inspection. The two lamps have different on/off switch mechanisms, as shown, indicating that one socket or electrical assembly may have been replaced at some point. Both retain their harps and finials.
