A stunning and rare minimalist floor lamp, model 1051, designed by gino sarfatti and manufactured by arteluce in italy in 1966. This piece is a true masterpiece of mid-century modern lighting, embodying sarfatti’s unique ability to balance functionality with sculptural presence. Its design is rooted in simplicity and refinement, showcasing the designer’s unparalleled talent for transforming technical solutions into works of art. The lamp features a conical diffuser in white methacrylate, casting a soft and even glow that enhances its surroundings with warmth and clarity. The flexible arm, executed in polished brass with a matte nickel finish, has developed a subtle patina over time, adding depth and authenticity to its character. The structural base is composed of a rigid cylindrical stem in black crackle-lacquered metal—an unmistakable arteluce hallmark, anchored by a heavy cast iron base finished in the same texture. Together these elements create a striking balance of materials and form. Remaining in very good original condition, the lamp shows only minimal signs of age and use. The perspex shade is perfectly intact, while the gentle fading of the adjustable arm enhances its vintage charm. Designed to accommodate e27 bulbs of up to 100 watts, the lamp combines enduring practicality with refined aesthetics. Literature; gino sarfatti 1938-1973 selected works silvana editoriale, romanelli & severi arteluce catalogue, page 50. Rarely seen on the market, this model is a highly desirable collector’s piece and a versatile addition to any interior. Its clean lines, honest materials, and quiet elegance epitomize the spirit of italian modernism, making it not only an important sarfatti design but also a timeless statement in contemporary living spaces.
