This exceptional 1980s Murano glass amphora-shaped vase represents a certified masterpiece of Venetian postmodern craftsmanship, masterfully executing a rare combination of the "Scavo" and "Sommerso" techniques. Standing a remarkable 22 cm tall, this piece boasts magnificent structural and artistic presence. The upper portion proudly retains the original vintage "Vetri di Murano" paper label from the historic Consorzio Venezia Vetro, guaranteeing absolute authenticity and island provenance. The vase features a complex, multi-layered execution. The inner core displays a beautiful Sommerso layer of ethereal pastel pink glass, perfectly set within the vibrant aqua green glass of the base and sculptural handles, enriched with trapped microbubbles. In stark contrast to the inner core, the outer surface has been treated with the historic Scavo technique. Chemical salts and fused oxides applied in the kiln have created a genuinely rough, opaque, and deeply textured salty white patina. This tactile crust beautifully mimics the corroded and weathered surface of ancient Roman archaeological glass found in excavations. The craftsmanship is exceptional, with a perfectly flat, hand-polished transparent base that highlights the translucent inner layers while ensuring absolute stability (the vase is completely solid and balanced, with no wobble). with its distinctive 1980s pastel color palette and raw, brutalist texture, this rare collector's item makes a high-end vase for contemporary, Wabi-Sabi, or postmodern-inspired luxury interiors. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The deliberately rough "Scavo" satin texture and matte surface patinas are perfectly preserved and intact, just as they were originally created in the kiln. No chips, cracks, or accidental restorations. The original paper label from the factory consortium is intact and legible. Minor signs of wear due to age on the transparent base.
