An exceptional original limited-edition serigraph by celebrated Italian-American artist Giancarlo Impiglia (b. 1940), titled The Grand Party, created in 1986.
One of Impiglia's most recognizable compositions, The Grand Party depicts an impossibly glamorous evening gathering beneath monumental classical arches, with formally dressed figures overlooking a nighttime city skyline. The composition embodies the artist's distinctive visual language—a sophisticated fusion of Art Deco, Cubism, Futurism, geometric abstraction, and 20th-century café society glamour.
Rendered in an extraordinary palette of midnight blue, blush pink, burgundy, turquoise, black, cream and metallic gold tones, the work feels remarkably contemporary nearly four decades after its creation.
This example is hand-numbered 92/225 in pencil at lower left, titled “THE GRAND PARTY” at lower center, and hand-signed and dated ©1986 by Giancarlo Impiglia at lower right.
The work is a color serigraph on Arches paper, consistent with documented examples of this 1986 edition. Published examples confirm an edition of 225 and approximately 25 × 33-inch image dimensions.
The artwork is presented in a particularly striking period frame featuring a high-gloss ivory and soft blush-pink surround with metallic gold accents, beautifully complementing Impiglia's palette. The oversized presentation gives the work substantial presence and makes it an exceptional statement piece for a Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, Art Deco, Postmodern or contemporary interior.
