This is a fabulous heavy sculpture by Japanese artist Masatoyo Kishi or 'Kuki' as he is also known. It is made of cast stone formed into a biomorphic curvacious shape resembling an abstracted female figure. The piece is signed 'KUKI' and numbered 15/200. Undated, but is typical of the artist's sculpture work of the 1970-80s.
The artist's work is very well collected and we believe this is an excellent and less typical example of his work.
This substantial piece measures about 15" x 7" x 7" and weighs about 20 pounds.
The sculpture is in very good condition with a couple of minor scrapes, difficult to see. There are some natural variations and flaws in the material (pin holes, color streaks) but these are not damage but features of production and material. The piece overall looks fabulous and is ready for prominent display.
