Chinoiserie pieces have long fascinated me, so I was delighted to have come across this Chinese cabinet with carved panels … Read more Chinoiserie pieces have long fascinated me, so I was delighted to have come across this Chinese cabinet with carved panels covered in gold leaf and handpainted scenes on the sides and the top. I find the side panels even more interesting than the decoration on the two doors and am amazed at all the details of these scenes. There is also a lovely scene painted on the top (refer to picture 12). This vintage cabinet is in good condition, but there are some areas on the two doors where the paint has come off (refer to pictures 3 and 15). There was probably a piece of metal that went through the two holes above the door pulls, but it is no longer present (refer to picture 14).

I photographed this cabinet outside on a sunny afternoon in August, which allows the many details to be viewed clearly. It will invariably look different when viewed in an interior setting under artificial light. Please take this into consideration when matching colors.
