This remarkable marble pen stand is more than a handsome desk accessory. Inscribed with "Italy 1944" and the iconic RAF (Royal Air Force) insignia, it also bears the words "Souvenir of Assisi", commemorating the Allied liberation of the historic Italian town during a pivotal moment in the Second World War.
Measuring 4 inches wide, 4 inches high, and 2.5 inches deep, this compact yet weighty piece is ideal for display on a desk or shelf. The marble shows light wear with a few minor chips and nibbles, consistent with age and adding to its authentic character. Please review photos for further condition assessment.
Rare, evocative, and ideal for collectors of WWII memorabilia, RAF items, or historical curiosities, this pen stand offers a powerful connection to a moment when courage, faith, and freedom converged in the heart of Italy.
