A pair of Norwegian tub chairs by Arne Halvorsen, produced by Sørli Møbler. Deeply curved black leather shells that wrap forward to form the arms, floating in a chromed tubular steel frame on splayed legs with a cross stretcher.
These sit low and read quiet. At a 16" seat height they're closer to a fireside chair than a formal armchair, and the chrome keeps the silhouette light enough to float in a room rather than anchor it. Good as a pair flanking a fireplace, angled toward a sofa in a living room, or in a study where you want seating that doesn't visually crowd.
