The chairs … Read more A handsome pair of bespoke upholstered lounge armchairs model "No. 600.1" designed by A. Rudin, Los Angeles, CA. The chairs feature sculptural alder wood frames wrapping the seats with exposed side rails and descending into slender saber legs with a subtle Ming-inspired design. The style is reminiscent of designs by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings. The generous seat is crafted with a gently reclined back, broad English rolled arms, and a generously padded loose box seat cushion. The distinctive chairs are upholstered in an tactile oatmeal or wheat-toned boucle cotton fabric, filled with down. Each chair retains it's original A. Rudin maker's label and customized order tags below the seat. The upholstery while being vintage is still presentable and shows well. The hardwood frames are sturdy and strong having excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Constructed in a refined modern style with a subtle Chinoiserie accent, the chairs are well suited for a variety of spaces. Arms of chairs measure 24" tall. Sold as a pair.
