Originally used by tradesmen to store and transport valuable tools, this chest showcases exceptional craftsmanship with thick pine boards, decorative riveted iron banding, recessed cast iron side handles, and a raised sliding till integrated into the lid. The untouched surface displays the honest wear collectors appreciate, making it an outstanding decorative storage piece, blanket chest, coffee table, or entryway accent.

Its authentic character and original construction make it equally at home in primitive, farmhouse, industrial, or early American interiors.

Condition:
Overall good antique condition with age-appropriate wear consistent with over 100 years of use. The original lock is missing. There are splits, shrinkage, and losses to portions of the upper trim and lid surround, along with scattered scratches, dings, oxidation to the hardware, and wear throughout that contribute to its authentic antique character. The chest remains sturdy, structurally sound, and presents beautifully.
