A stunning 1925-1935 French art deco hanging fixture by Hettier & Vincent in nickel plated bronze or solid brass holding a beautiful shade in exceptional heavy and thick glass made for Hettier et Vincent by Verreries des Hanots . Des Hanots was like Verlys one of the brands of the large Holophane glass company. It's done in molded-pressed glass made opaque by acid and highlighted by glossy transparent polished parts. It is signed Hettier & Vincent France to the rim. Hettier & Vincent was a large well known French lighting company producing high quality items. Wholesaler and retailer with its shop at the prestigious and beautiful Place de Vosges in Paris...top end of the market. A chandelier with identical bowl with a cheaper fixture with ropes is represented in the 1st supplement of the Hettier Vincent catalog on page 128. The canopy of my chandelier, with the same patterns as the shade, can be found in the same catalogue on page 136.
The chandelier is in very good condition. Some minuscule chips to the rim of the shade which is normal for this model bowl. As well as the common hairlines. Hanots shades almost always have them. They were caused by tension inside the glass during the cooling down process after production. Around one of the three holes we can see a chip (see picture). It won't notice with the chandelier in place.
All in all an excellent condition for this rare H&V model. I have re-nickeled and patinated the mounting. The bowl has a diameter of about 34,5 cm (13,58"). The chandelier has a height of 47 cm (18,5"). It holds three American candelabra base sockets.
