A vintage translucent hand-blown amethyst glass ashtray with controlled bubbles. This piece has a soft triangle shape and can be used as a decorative catch-all for jewelry or keys.
The bowl rests on a small collar base and a rough pontil mark is visible on the underside (this is where the glassblower separated the pontil from the molten glass). The shape and style of this piece places production in the 1950s or 60s. The maker is unknown.
The ashtray is 6 inches across and 2 1/2 inches tall. It weighs about 1 lb.
In excellent condition, with only the slightest signs of normal wear from previous use. There are tiny visible bits of charcoal around the pontil mark on the underside from the glass-blowers furnace (this is a normal by-product of the glass blowing process). No damage or defects.
