Compact cast iron desk lamp featuring a decorative Art Nouveau base with ribbed fluting, scrollwork, and concentric ring detailing at the hinge assembly. The arched arm supports a frosted glass shade with a warm satin finish and gold stenciled motif, scalloped along the lower edge. The lamp adjusts at the neck via a ceramic-tipped thumbscrew, allowing the head to be angled as needed. Tested and in working order, it accepts a standard medium-base bulb.
Cast during the peak of the American Art Nouveau lighting period, lamps of this form were produced by numerous small foundries and regional makers, many of which specialized in ornate iron table and boudoir fixtures.
