Robert Leslie Howey (1900–1981) was a British painter and printmaker born in West Hartlepool, County Durham, England. Raised in an artistic family, he was the son of landscape artist John William Howey and developed a lifelong passion for coastal and rural landscapes. Robert Leslie Howey became known for his evocative depictions of harbors, fishing boats, and the English countryside, working in watercolor, oil, pastel, and various printmaking techniques. His work was exhibited at prestigious venues throughout the United Kingdom, including the Royal Scottish Academy, and his artwork continues to be appreciated by collectors for its timeless landscapes and maritime scenes.
