This exceptional 1950s Hollywood Regency oval wall mirror is a verified design by the renowned Spanish master cabinetmaker Francisco Hurtado.
Handcrafted in Spain circa 1955, the mirror features a spectacular carved wood frame composed of radiating, scalloped petal motifs. The frame retains its magnificent, original hand-applied gold leaf finish, showcasing a rich, deep antiqued patina that catches the light beautifully.
A quintessential statement piece, its dramatic proportions and timeless sunburst silhouette blend seamlessly into Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, or maximalist contemporary interiors. The mirror glass is clear and elegant, beautifully complementing the highly textured, sculptural giltwood frame.

Each individual wood slat remains tightly secured to the central oval housing. Gilding and Finish The original gold leaf finish shows beautiful "rubbing" and light surface wear along the raised high-points of the scalloped petals. This reveals the natural wood grain and underlying gesso base layers, giving the mirror a highly sought-after, genuine antique patina. Distressing There is light, natural surface oxidation and tarnish within the deeper hand-carved grooves of the frame. It is completely stable and adds distinct mid-century character. Mirror Glass Condition The heavy, vintage mirror glass remains highly reflective, completely functional, and very bright. Silvering: The glass shows minimal, minor silvering degradation or "foxing" around the absolute outermost perimeter edges. There are no large dark splotches, ghosting, or major scratches clouding the main viewing area. less
