This is a hand-coiled Hopi-Tewa polychrome miniature pot created by a member of the famous Nampeyo family of potters from First Mesa. Hand-gathered native clay, decorated with natural mineral slip paints. The bottom is hand-inscribed with "Hopi", "Polacca", and the artist's name. It looks to be signed by a contemporary or 20th-century family member C. Polacca. The perimeter displays stylized black geometric slip motifs, heavily influenced by traditional Sikyatki migration and avian designs revitalized by the matriarch Nampeyo.
