H. PETITOT
A beautiful pair of 1933-1940 French art deco corner wall sconces in modernist style by Hubert Petitot. The mountings in pressed brass are chromed on the outside and painted on the inside. They hold glass panels in partly frosted bluish glass. They have a height of about 25 cm (9,84 inches). And the glass disc on top has a diameter of 25 cm too. The sconces are in very good condition. I cleaned the original chrome plating. It shows only minimal signs of wear consisting its age. The white paint on the inside shows cracks and yellowed over the years. They are currently wired with old French bayonet sockets. For the US I will rewire the sconces with american candelabra base ones.
