The Edge of Infinity explores the tension between structure and expansiveness. Interlocking curved and rectilinear forms move across a deep blue-black and charcoal field, creating a composition that feels both carefully constructed and continuously unfolding. Muted blue-gray shapes emerge through layered oil and cold wax surfaces, while fine lines divide and reconnect the forms like an evolving spatial system. The contrast between the cool central structure and the dark surrounding field produces a shifting relationship between figure and ground. Suggesting a boundary that can be approached but never fully reached, the painting reflects the idea of infinity as something sensed just beyond the limits of perception.
Oil paint and cold wax on Encaustiflex, a microfiber material made for recycled soda bottles mounted on cradled panel. Ready to hang.
