Vintage hand painted ceramic laughing buddha from China, symbolizing family harmony, fertility, and good fortune. The five children shown represent the five natural elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) and blessings for future generations.
This jolly chap is robed in famille rose and gold. Famille rose is a style of Chinese porcelain defined by a dominant pink or rose-colored overglaze enamel. In good condition overall - no chips or scratches, except for the lacquer on the base, and a mark on the buddha's forehead - please see photos.
