Antique Spanish Colonial hand carved head of a santo, c.1900
This would have been part of a full body santo, and were usually saint figures. This one is very well carved with fine details throughout, especially the curly hair, and with glass eyes. Polychrome painted on a gesso base. Good overall condition with surface age wear.
