The square light chamber has openings on all four sides, allowing light to filter through.
The pedestal is distinguished by a circular opening that lightens the otherwise solid form. Below, the corners of the rectangular base curve gently upward, providing a pleasing contrast to the roof's downward-sweeping eaves. These thoughtful details give the lantern a balanced, harmonious design.
