Beautiful wood with fine detailed Carvings all around - The Ornaments on the Apron (front skirt) are typical of the Neoclassical return to ancient plant motifs. Topped with a gorgeous Burlwood Inlay Work on the Top. Made with fluted Legs-the vertical grooves are characteristic of the Louis XVI period. They imitate ancient columns. The X-Stretcher, with its lavish carvings and delicate brass accents, rounds off the high-quality Character of this piece of furniture. with its elegant shape and balanced Proportions, this is a unique Console table for your Home. Good vintage condition – signs of wear on the surfaces consistent with age – a faint, round water mark on the top –and traces of an old restoration as can be seen in the attached photos.
