This wonderfully delicate 36-piece set is richly decorated with detailed landscape scenes depicting mountains, pavilions, figures, boats, trees and flying cranes, all rendered in a lovely muted palette of cream, pale blue, celadon green, blush pink, rust and black with extensive gilt gold detailing.

The porcelain is exceptionally thin and delicate, giving the pieces an almost weightless quality. I especially love the unusual footed teacups, which are decorated both inside and out, and the intricate black-and-gold patterned borders that run throughout the service. The large teapot, covered sugar bowl and creamer are particularly beautiful, with sculptural handles and decoration continuing across nearly every surface.

It is a wonderfully abundant set, with enough pieces to create a beautiful layered table setting. When not in use, the teapot and serving pieces are lovely enough to display on their own in a china cabinet or collected interior.

Pieces bear a small black-and-gold Japanese mark to the underside.
