The cap and stem are smooth to … Read more An oversized cubensis mushroom sculpture, hand-carved from Northern California or Southern Oregon Redwood. The cap and stem are smooth to the touch, juxtaposed with a deep vertical crevice towards the bottom, revealing some of the soft, inner texture common to Redwood. The base and inner cap showcase the skill of the woodworker with an etched texture representing the coarse soil below and the gills of the fungus above. The asymmetrical shape of the cap and its thinness towards the jagged outer edges are realistic to this specific species of psychedelic mushroom.

Signed on the bottom with the initials 'IMJ', this is a lovely specimen that represents the region, culture, and aesthetic of the Northern California and Southern Oregon Coasts, aka the 'Mythical state of Jefferson', and the greater Pacific Northwest. The wood is in its natural state, with the exception of a light Feed and Wax polish. It has not been stained or sealed. See less
