We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning and very rare pair of original Victorian giltwood asymmetrical armchairs with … Read more We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning and very rare pair of original Victorian giltwood asymmetrical armchairs with embroidered bird upholstery Please note this auction includes two armchairs, the pictures include the chairs with and without the covers A very rare pair, I have never seen asymmetrical armchairs before, I assume the reason is you can have them sitting next to each other as a two seat settee or separately as armchairs The chairs are totally original, they are circa 1860, they have the period upholstery, padding, everything. The giltwood finish is in good order and nicely aged. The removable covers look to be circa 1920s. They are as you can see floral with large birds The covers have been removed and cleaned, they have slight wear around the edges in one or two places. Both chairs have arm covers in the same upholstery as well Dimensions: Height 91cm Width 74cm Depth 64.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point Condition See less
