An original Scandinavian Modern chamotte vase designed by Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand, Sweden. Finished in a soft pale blue-white glaze, the vessel features Nylund's celebrated highly textured chamotte surface, creating an organic sculptural appearance reminiscent of coral, lava stone, or weathered limestone.

The contrast between the deeply textured body and the smooth glazed neck exemplifies the restrained elegance of mid-century Swedish ceramic design. Signed on the underside with the impressed Rörstrand crown mark along with "Sverige," "Chamotte," and "Nylund."

The vase stands approximately 5 inches tall. Condition is very good overall with one small chip to the tip of a single textured projection near the lower body. Because of the intentionally rugged surface, the flaw is unobtrusive and does not detract from the overall presentation. No repairs observed.
