Illuminate your home with a museum-quality piece of American history. This breathtaking early 20th-century slag glass table lamp was manufactured by the iconic Edward Miller & Company (Meriden, Connecticut) circa 1915–1920. A premier example of late Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts design, it serves as an extraordinary statement piece for a library table, executive desk, or living room console.
The dome-shaped shade features curved bent panels of premium marbled slag glass in an evocative atmospheric palette of sky blue, stormy purple, and cream tones. The glass is framed within a highly decorative, cast-metal overlay depicting a continuous, wrap-around scenic landscape. The intricate silhouette work realistically captures stone arch bridges, marsh grass, and rustic cottages nestled beneath towering woodland trees. When illuminated, the vibrant glass creates a stunning silhouette effect, emitting a deeply warm, ambient glow.
The substantial, heavy cast-metal base is finished in its original aged bronze patina. It boasts an architectural fluted columnar standard that swells gracefully into a circular, relief-molded base decorated with stylized floral borders.
