Excellent vintage condition, no visible damage. These align with mid-to-late 20th-century African folk art imports. Most of these pieces were individually handcrafted by artisans in East Africa, primarily Kenya, between the 1960s and 1990s
These pieces are authentic handmade folk art, while there are no maker's mark/labels, Pier 1 Imports heavily featured imported global folk art animal sculptures sourced directly from Kenya. These specific giraffe figures match the exact carving style, base structure, and spot-staining techniques of the 11-to-12-inch Kenyan giraffe statues that Pier 1 stocked during their retail era.
