A very large and impressive antique 19th century English Royal Furnivals centerpiece bowl. Made of porcelain featuring a scalloped blue and brown daisy transferware design with footed base. Marked Furnival 41 on base, #215363
Royal Furnivals England / Furnival pottery companies, primarily based in the renowned pottery district of Staffordshire, England, from the 1870s until 1968. They are celebrated for traditional underglaze transferware, with famous patterns like Blue Denmark and Old Chelsea. The origins of the company trace back to Thomas Furnival & Sons, established at the Elder Road works in Cobridge, Stoke-on-Trent, in 1871. After the senior Furnival retired in 1890, his sons took over the business, formally incorporating it as Furnivals Ltd in 1895.
