Details:
Woodblock print by Bakufu Ohno. The artwork depicts three vibrant, fancy goldfish swimming gracefully underwater. Two are bright orange and white with flowing fins, while the third is a contrasting black telescope-eye or moor goldfish. Delicate, soft-green strands of aquatic waterweed (similar to Cabomba or hornwort) curve through the center and right side of the composition, anchoring the fish in their environment. The background uses a muted, subtle gray-blue gradient effect known as bokashi to simulate depth in water. The rich pigments on the fish illustrate the high-caliber craftsmanship of mid-century Japanese printing. Measures

Wonderful condition overall. This print exhibits very little fading and the colors are still rich and vibrant.
