Ole Wanscher Model Pd 109 Lounge Chair for France & Søn, Denmark, C. 1963–1966
An exceptional and highly sculptural Model PD 109 lounge chair designed by the legendary Ole Wanscher for France & Søn and imported to the United States by Povl Dinesen during the early 1960s. This chair retains its original France & Søn medallion along with the rare factory-applied Povl Dinesen export stamps on both seat rails, confirming its authenticity as an original Danish export.
Recently reupholstered by Irwin's Restoration in Kovi felted Crypton soft poly. The chair remains true to Wanscher's elegant, understated aesthetic while offering outstanding comfort. The original internal wooden cushion frames have been retained during the restoration—a detail often lost during reupholstery—which preserves the chair's intended proportions and exceptional support.
