Lucien Fontaine
A beautiful French art deco pendant light around 1930 in nickel plated bronze or solid brass. It holds a bowl signed "L'Elf ", for Les Etablissements Lucien Fontaine. This monsieur Fontaine had a factory producing art deco lighting in the 20s and 30s In Neuilly a Parisian suburb. Some of the glass shades L'Elf used were specially made for them bearing the L'elf signature. The L'elf signed colored shades were produced by both Degué and André Delatte. The shades in molded pressed glass with a L'Elf signature were made by Degue.
The pendant is in excellent condition. The bronze canopy perfectly complements the shade. I have re-nickeled and patinated the mounting. And the pendant has a height of 44 cm (17-21/64") with a diameter of 34,7 cm (13,66"). The fixture is rewired and holds an American standard socket.
