H. Petitot & Muller frères
A wonderful French 1925-1935 art deco table lamp in nickel plated bronze or solid brass. The high quality mount holds a globe by the famous Muller glass company signed Muller fres Luneville. This model shade exists in two sizes, this is the smaller one. It's referred to as "aux bandeaux" in the old Muller catalogs. The lamp was designed and produced by the well known Paris based company of Hubert Petitot (10 rue du Vert-Bois). His father Alexandre Petitot founded the firm in 1878. Henri took over after the first world war. The base is marked on the inside with the usual AP initials (AP for Alexandre Petitot). This model base was also used by Petitot for a ceiling light mounted with a Muller peacock globe. As such it is represented in the 1931 Petitot catalog (see picture).
The lamp has a height of 20,5 cm (8,07") and the Muller shade is 5,6 inches in diameter. It is in very good condition. The 90 years old nickel plating is still in excellent condition given its age. The lamp comes newly wired. I placed an american candelabra base socket and US 2-prong plug.
