M. Hudry & Val Saint-Lambert
A pair of 1925-1935 French art deco wall lights in nickel on cast solid brass holding thick glass panels in frosted molded-pressed glass. The sconces were made by Marcel Hudry. A producer of bronze and forged iron lighting fixtures. He had a large company in Paris (13 rue de Crussol) working mainly in a neo-classical style but he made lamps sconces and chandeliers in modern (art déco) style as well.
The wall sconces are represented in the old Hudry product catalog (see last picture). The shades make a wonderful match with the brass mounts depicting the same decoration. They were done in clear glass that was frosted by acid and locally polished to give them glossy highlights. These shades were produced by Val Saint-Lambert the famous glass factories in near Liège in Belgium. The sconces are 32,5 cm high (12,8") and are 8,58 inches wide. 4,72 Inches deep. They are in very good condition. I have re-nickeled and patinated the fixtures and they come rewired. On the picture they still have an old bayonet socket. But for the US I will place American candelabra base sockets.
