This piece showcases traditional multi-layered craftsmanship, featuring a vibrant, opaque lemon-yellow glass casing carefully wheel-carved down to a satin, milk-white glass background core. The vibrant yellow color is very hard to replicate in a photo and needs to be seen in person.

The carved relief design is executed entirely by hand and wraps fully around the body. It depicts a highly traditional Xuan Cao (Daylily) botanical theme, complete with fully bloomed, long-petaled flowers, delicate leaves, and a cluster of tightly tapering trumpet buds waiting to open. In Chinese art, the daylily is celebrated as the "flower of forgetting worries," bringing a beautiful message of peace and comfort to a home.
