This original pencil-signed example captures London’s iconic Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain at Piccadilly Circus, presenting one of the city’s most celebrated landmarks through Cherry’s confident linework and masterful sense of perspective.

Elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 1928, Cherry built an international reputation producing finely executed etchings of historic architecture throughout Britain and Europe. His original signed works remain highly collectible among admirers of early twentieth-century printmaking.

This etching retains its vintage presentation with original matting, black frame, and backing, preserving the character of its period framing. The visible platemark confirms the work was printed from an etched plate, and the image is pencil signed by the artist. Because the original framing has been preserved, any edition or proof notation concealed beneath the mat has not been examined or verified. Note that the mat appears slightly darker and lighter depending on surrounding light.
