Heavily influenced by Neoclassical design, it features rich wood grain, architectural fluting down the side pilasters, and recessed panels on the drawer fronts. It retains its original brass drop-ring hardware and an ornamental key tassel.

For collectors, the highlight is the drawer joinery. The sides feature machine-age Knapp joints (the pin-and-scallop look), which firmly dates the piece to a brief manufacturing window between 1870 and 1900. The back is constructed of original, wide hand-planed vertical planks with a beautiful natural patina.
