The case sits … Read more This sideboard credenza is crafted with book-matched, herringbone-veneered door panels and a solid carved apron and base. The case sits on four bold, hand-turned trumpet legs joined by a box stretcher, with a raised carved crest at the center back and a matching carved finial detail on the front stretcher. A narrow band of diamond fretwork carving runs along the top edge of the case, framing two flanking cabinet doors and a central bank of two drawers.

The design draws directly from the Jacobean Revival movement popular in American furniture production of the 1920s, which reinterpreted 17th-century English forms — heavy turned legs, strapwork and scroll carving, applied filigree hardware — for Colonial Revival-era dining rooms. The large acanthus-scroll pull mounted between the drawers and the ornate cast pulls on the drawer fronts are hallmarks of the style.
