This copy was purchased from the estate of the late American artist William Christenberry (19362016), the celebrated Washington DC-based painter, sculptor, and photographer best known for his lifelong documentation of the American South, particularly Alabama. Christenberry was a towering figure in American art and photography, and his personal library reflects the depth and breadth of his engagement with the medium.
