The vase features the classic Imari (or Arita) color scheme consisting of underglaze cobalt blue, overglaze iron-red, and rich gold or polychrome enamel highlights. The prominent heart-shaped cartouche on one side displays a delicately hand-painted figurative landscape depicting people in traditional attire. The cartouche on the opposite side displays boasts a finely hand-painted natural scene with a songbird perched amid blooming peonies and plum blossoms.
The central scene is framed by densely detailed arabesque and scrolling vine patterns wrapping the surrounding body. The top and bottom rims are finished with thick, vibrant iron-red borders decorated with delicate gilt geometric patterns.
The vase is crafted with small loops or an integrated hanging eyelet at the base, designed to hold flowers or decorative branches.
