Striking line of cypress trees on a hot sunny Mediterranean afternoon in terrific colors, oil on board under acrylic, matted, framed, and ready to hang.
Drama mama: the dark blue shadows on the ground are complemented by the navy blue cotton board mat and the dark burgundy shadows on the backs of the trees are emphasized by a custom frame in the same color. The painting is vintage and signed en verso; its exact provenance unknown although sourced from a dealer in Eastern Europe. The lacquer frame is solid wood, made by Roma in Italy in a discontinued colorway.
