Masterfully crafted in the late 20th century, the heavy sculptural base features a beautifully molded elephant captured mid-stride with its trunk triumphantly raised—a classic symbol of good fortune and prosperity. The figure is richly detailed with deep organic skin texturing and an ornate, fluidly draped ceremonial saddle blanket accented with traditional molded medallion motifs.
Finished in a deep, oil-rubbed bronze/charcoal patina, the elephant rests securely on a clean, single-tier black rectangular plinth base, a signature structural hallmark of Berman casting molds. The central support rod threads cleanly down directly through the saddle blanket for an integrated, balanced silhouette. The lamp comes complete with its structured, crisp white square bell-flare lampshade that diffuses a warm, beautiful ambient glow. The sculptural elephant base is in excellent vintage structural condition with no cracks, fractures, or structural repairs to the delicate trunk, ears, or legs. The dark bronze-tone patina finish remains deep and largely uniform, showing only a minor, superficial speck of surface finish wear on the top curve of the ear, consistent with age and gentle handling. The flat black plinth base remains sturdy with only minimal light surface scuffs. The original white fabric bell shade is structurally sound and taut along its frame ribs with only minor, age-appropriate light wear. Electrical components and the turn-knob switch have been fully tested and are in stable, excellent working order.
