This exquisite, collector-grade octagonal pewter tea caddy dates from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic period (circa 1900–1920). Hand-crafted in the historic Chaoyang (Shantou) region of China, the vessel features an incredibly preserved eight-sided construction with relief decorative framing surrounding hand-rendered reverse-painted glass panels. The narrative scenes display traditional figures, scholars, and soldiers rendered in rich earth tones.The underside features the complete, authentic stamped circular workshop seal reading "Chaoyang" (潮陽), the family artisan surname "Yan" (颜), and the historic quality stamp "Zhen Dian Tong" (真点铜), verifying an elite structural blend containing traces of copper for long-term durability. Includes its structural fitted upper metal closure. Exceptional aged metal patina perfect for fine Asian Chinoiserie curation.
