A fully restored set of six “Brasilia” dining chairs by Broyhill, made in Lenoir, NC in the early 1960s and newly upholstered in a playful geometric fabric from Pindler’s Hallman collection.
The chair features a sculpted backrest that cascades downwards from the top of the rear legs and narrows as it approaches the seat. The hind legs have a slight rearward splay that contrasts nicely with the stiletto taper of the front pair. Elegantly shaped armrests on the captain’s chairs compliment the geometry and curvature seen elsewhere in the chair.
The chairs have been professionally refinished in a durable satin lacquer, showing few signs of age. Each chair was disassembled, reglued, and rebuilt to ensure no loose joints. Newly installed two-inch high density foam cushions beneath the upholstery make for an exceptionally comfortable sit.
Note: the armchairs are 22.75 inches wide. The width dimension below pertains to the side chairs.
