A dramatic antique two-piece centerpiece by Nippon: a hand-painted scenic bowl paired with a separate matching gilded pedestal base. The bowl depicts a detailed landscape scene inside — sunset sky, river, arched bridge, and swans beneath a canopy of trees — bordered by a cobalt blue rim with raised gold scrollwork. The pedestal base carries the same cobalt and gold motifs and stands on four sculptural gilded lion's paw feet. Marked on the underside with the "Hand Painted Nippon" M-in-wreath backstamp. A striking, sculptural statement piece for a curated collection of fine Japanese export porcelain.
