Richly-colored original gouache still life painting made on heavy cold press paper in new solid wood Larson Juhl frame under gallery acrylic. The warmth of the walnut finish frame complements the art nicely. Signed and dated by the artist on recto.
After Jean Simeon Chardin (French, 1699 – 1779), who was an 18th-century French painter. He is considered a master of still life, and is also noted for his genre paintings which depict kitchen maids, children, and domestic activities. Carefully balanced composition, soft diffusion of light, and granular impasto characterize his work.
