Started in 1851 by xxxxxxx, they quickly became industry leaders in wicker furniture. In 1897 Wakefield merged with the Heywood Brothers and together they expanded their business and was the world’s leader in rattan, cane and woven wicker furniture. By 1920 they had invented the Lloyd Loom machine that produced woven fiber wicker furniture. This table is one of those pieces. It probably started life as a sewing storage table. But, we love it as a Drinks Table. Store glassware in the basket compartment and liquor on a tray on the lower shelf. Great piece of Americana with beautiful patina.
