Le passage du Gué is a beautiful etching and aquatint on ivory-colored and RBK Rives watermarked paper, realized at the end of the 19th century by Frédéric August Laguillermie (1841-1934), after Constant Troyon (1810-1865). This original print, full margins and with lifetime impressions, reproduces Constant Troyon 's artwork, a landscapist painter of the Barbizon school. In very good conditions, except for a usual yellowing of the paper and light foxing on the edges, the original print is practically untouched. White cardboard passepartout included (34 x 49 cm). Constant Troyon (1810 – 1865) was a French painter of the Barbizon school . In the early part of his career, he painted mostly landscapes. In the last years of his carreer, Troyon found his métier as a painter of animals, and achieved international recognition. Frederick Auguste Laguillermie (1841 - 1934), also known as August Laguillermie, was a French etcher, painter and engraver, founder of the Artistic Society of French Aquafortists (Paris), working in the tradition of Alfred Cadart. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
