Raw and unique, this two-candle candelabra reflects the spirit of an era when craftsmanship celebrated its imperfections and flaws. A round, hand-carved solid wood base supports a central ovoid element, also made of wood, whose visible tool marks lend the piece its endearing raw character. On either side, two heavy-link chains of blackened wrought iron hang gracefully, each supporting a carved wooden candle holder. The overall effect is dark, dense, almost solemn, yet beautifully understated in its rounded, organic forms. This is a distinctive piece, likely made in the 1960s or 70s in the spirit of the Brutalist movement, and it will find its perfect place in an interior that appreciates authentic materials, dark wood, and antique metal.
The candlestick is vintage and dates from the 1970s. It is in good condition. The wood is beautifully carved and polished. The wrought iron shows some minor signs of oxidation.
Base diameter: 11 cm, maximum width: 26 cm, height: 28 cm.
