splendid artistic vase in the shape of a basket (or bucket) with handle, a true work of art in exquisite murano blown glass, dating back to the 1930s and 1950s (the height of the art deco and novecento italiano periods). The vase is unsigned, but is attributable to the murano factory "salviati & c." the object is distinguished by a curved body in extraordinarily light, clear crystal, embellished along the belly and neck with an exquisite cold-cut wheel engraving, featuring calligraphic motifs of plant shoots and small, open-petaled flowers that leave a finely satin-finished surface, creating a perfect contrast with the brilliance of the crystal. Its attribution to the renowned murano manufacturer salviati & c. Is confirmed by the highly virtuoso execution. The upper lip and central constriction are outlined by a thin, elegant, heat-applied blue-turquoise glass thread. The piece's unique feature lies in its intricately detailed, mobile elements: six swinging lower rings and a majestic arched handle, all crafted from precious cobalt blue glass crafted with a "rigadin ritorto" (a dense spiral texture) and finished with a sophisticated acid-etched satin finish. Each blue element is inserted into clear crystal eyelets, shaped with pliers and applied directly to the body while the glass was still incandescent. The "pontello" (or separation punch) mark, left intentionally rough, is clearly visible beneath the base: this characteristic cold circular fracture testifies to the manual separation of the vase from the master glassmaker's blowpipe.
